GETTING STARTED ON CARY
Cary is an online marketplace through which people connect with, buy and sell unique new & pre-owned items mainly in the United Arab Emirates.
If you have something that you would like to sell, you can simply register via the "register" button and display new and/or pre-owned item(s) for sale using the "sell an item" button, both located at the top of the home page. Once someone purchases an item, you will receive a notification as well as an email with the details.
Cary is based out of Dubai located in United Arab Emirates. Sellers from all around the world sell on Cary though and the website and mobile app is available worldwide for people to purchase from, with a focus on the UAE.
Both new & pre-owned items are sold on Cary.
Items sold are delivered directly from the sellers' destinations to the buyers. If sellers do not accept to ship to certain locations, they should indicate so in the item's description.
Prices are set by the sellers themselves. Potential buyers can always try to negotiate a discount by sending a message to the seller.
Cary enables anyone to sell their pre-loved items throughout the UAE through an innovative platform. At the same time, customers are exposed to new & pre-owned items that might not available in retail stores and at more affordable prices.
Regarding the cost of selling on Cary, it's absolutely free to list and sell an unlimited number of items on the site and mobile app.
Currently, when a purchase is made on Cary, the money is directly transferred to the seller. This might soon change to an after-delivery payment system whereby the payment gets received by the seller once the buyer indicates the item as "received" in its advertised state.
Yes, for the time being. But we plan to add more language options in the future.
To make a purchase on Cary, simply click on the item to be redirected to its page, click on the “Make an offer” button, and complete the consequent steps. Currently, you cannot pay on Cary. However, we will be adding payment options soon.
Our website and mobile app are in real time. All available options and sizes are displayed online. If your prefered option is not showing up, it is unfortunately out of stock.
If you have an account please login first and then contact the seller from which you have made the purchase.
Contact customer support if the seller does not respond within 1 week of your inquiry.
You may cancel an order at any time before the order ships in case the seller has indicated somewhere in the item's description or their profile that they accept cancellations. We recommend you cancel your order as soon as possible by contacting the seller.
It depends on the seller's delivery or shipping method. By contacting the seller, depending on the delivery / shipping method used by the seller, a tracking number might be provided to you once your package is shipped by the seller's. Contact the seller for these details.
Delivery dates depend on the sellers. It is usually advised that sellers indicate their estimated delivery date(s) in the item's description field. For more information on delivery dates, buyers should contact the sellers via direct message on Cary.
Currently, no delivery / shipping options are available for the sellers and buyers to choose from but we invite sellers to mention their preferred shipping method(s) in the item’s description. We will be adding shipping methods soon.
FEES & PAYMENTS
Cary currently does not accept payments. Discuss payment methods with the seller(s) to complete your purchase.
Cary does not accept any form of payment. However, we will be adding payment options soon such as Paypal, Mastercard and Visa. Sign up for our newsletter for our updates.
PACKAGING & DELIVERIES
Does Cary handle packaging and/or deliveries?
Cary does not handle packaging and shipping. Sellers must handle these themselves and at their own expense.
RETURNS & REFUNDS
What is your policy regarding damaged goods?
Any originally damaged or false-advertised item should be returned as soon as possible to the seller at the seller's expense and the seller should perform either an exchange or a refund. Any seller that does not abide by these rules should be reported and risks having his/her account banned.
What is your policy regarding returns and exchanges?
Refunds, returns and exchanges are at the discretion of the seller and should be mentioned in the item's description fields.
SELLING ON Cary
Just register or log in and click the "sell and item" button located on the top of the home page and start filling out the item's details such as price, description and so on. Once you've filled all required fields and have uploaded at least 1 image, then you should click the save button and the item will be published.
To get a link to your item on Cary, after logging in with your username and password, simply click on the item that you have uploaded via the marketplace and copy-paste the link to your friends.
The Cary website does not have built-in features allowing sellers to vary their prices depending on the quantity ordered by the customer(s) but all sellers are free to sell single items at fixed prices on Cary.
We might be implementing this option sometime in the future. However, in the meantime, we suggest you mention in the item's title & description that it is in fact a men's or women's item (E.g: Men's hooded jacket).
We are constantly adding more categories that our users suggest.
In the meantime, we suggest that you select the “other" category in the item category drop-down list and then mention in the item's title & description its' actual category.
The majority of our visitors comes from the United Arab Emirates, where we are based.
Anyone who wants to sell his/her item and has high resolution images of his/her items can sign up and start selling. Ratings and reviews are used to bring credibility to the sellers.
To make sure buyers get a good look at the item they're thinking about purchasing:
Try to use a photo that is at least 1600 pixels on the longest side. However, we recommend you don't enlarge smaller images to make them 1600 pixels. The photos you use must be at least 500 pixels on the longest side.
You can upload photos in these file formats:
JPEG (.jpg file extension)
PNG (.png file extension)
TIFF (.tif file extension)
BMP (.bmp file extension)
GIF (.gif file extension)
If your photo is in JPEG format, it should have a quality of 90 or higher on the 0-99 JPEG quality scale. We then optimize it for display in your listing.
Images shouldn't be larger than 2MB.
The dimensions should be as follows:
- Product Photos: 960x720 px
- Cover Photos: 1140x564 px
- Photos cannot have borders.
- Photos cannot have seller-added text or seller-added artwork.
- Listings must have at least one photo, but it is better to upload several thus displaying different views of the product.
- Upload a photo that shows the item's actual condition.
- Pictures that violate these requirements will be blocked from listing or will be subject to removal from the site after listing. Sellers who repeatedly violate the picture quality requirements may be subject to further administrative action, including selling restrictions and possible search demotion.
Adhering to these image requirements will allow you to:
- Attract more buyers to your listings and increase your sales with better quality pictures.
- Improve the search and shopping experience for buyers by meeting the picture quality requirements, and you may see higher detailed seller ratings and fewer cases against you.
Before you start the upload process, rename your photo files with names that will help you remember what they are, and put them in a folder on your computer where you can find them quickly and easily in case you need them again.
Don't use borders on your photos
Borders aren’t allowed on any of your photos. The only exception is if you have a “natural” border created by photographing your square or rectangular item against a neutral-colored backdrop.
No text or artwork on photos
No text or artwork (such as “Free shipping” or seller logos) may be added to photos. Copy that is essential to your listing should be placed in the title, subtitle, or item description.
Selling on Cary is not reserved for anyone in specific. Our basic terms require that you display items that are new or pre-owned and that are physically available for sale - including all kinds of gadgets, garments, bags, accessories, and other items - and that you upload high quality images of the item’s actual condition.
It is prohibited to display in any way your email address on the Cary website and mobile app for security reasons.
Profanity, nudity, and other violent content will result in account blocking and deletion. For full terms and conditions, visit and read our terms of conditions section.
You are free to display several items under the same account. It's usually simpler for sellers to manage a single account instead of several accounts. But then again, if you have different categories that cater to different niches, then you might want to set up different accounts so as to give each account a unique identity.
What kind of items are featured on Cary?
We don't specifically limit our site within specified categories at the moment.
Does Cary work on consignment basis?
Cary does not accept items on physical consignment basis for the time being.
